The Wehealth® Research Preview.
An early, sandboxed look at where PHapp® and Portal by Hub are headed — open to Wehealth® Forum members and partners for hands-on feedback from the field.
Most people see new PHapp® and Portal features only after they ship. Forum members see them sooner. The Research Preview is a separate, sandboxed space where our collaborators try features that are still well ahead of release — and shape them while there's still time to change direction. The PHapp® and Portal that communities rely on today stay untouched.
What the Research Preview is
The Research Preview is where the future of PHapp® and Portal by Hub takes shape alongside the people who will use it. It contains work that is further out than anything in Beta — new designs, new capabilities, and new ways of delivering verified health and safety guidance.
It exists so the people who know this work best — public health professionals, emergency managers, researchers, and partners — can engage with it live and tell us what's right and what's missing while it still matters.
How work reaches the public.
Research Preview → Beta → Public.
Every change moves through three stages before it reaches communities — and your feedback shapes it earliest. The PHapp® Beta is the near-final stage that catches bugs just before a public release. The Research Preview sits a step earlier, while ideas are still forming and there's still time to change direction. Nothing reaches the public until it has earned its way through both.
Completely separate from the live service
Everything in the Research Preview is walled off from production. Nothing here reaches the public: alerts are delivered only to participating members, no real residents are affected, and nothing you see or do touches the live PHapp® or Portal that the public depends on.
Forum members will explore it at demo.ph.app (PHapp®) and a companion Portal by Hub demo. Guided access starts with the Wehealth® Forum — request to join to be on the list.

Joining and installing the Research Preview
-
How do I get into the Research Preview?
It takes two steps. First, request to join through the Wehealth® Forum and be approved — access is tied to the email address you join with. Once you're approved, install the Research Preview app below and sign in with that same email.
Approval and installing are separate, so it's fine to install first and sign in once you're approved.
-
How do I install it on iPhone or iPad (iOS)?
The iOS preview is delivered through Apple's TestFlight.
- On your iPhone or iPad, tap the invite link: https://testflight.apple.com/join/5uMpKUZs
- If you don't have TestFlight yet, the App Store will open so you can install it — then tap the link again.
- Tap Accept, then Install. The PHapp® Research Preview appears on your home screen.
- Open it and sign in with your approved email.
-
How do I install it on Android?
You can join from your phone or from any web browser.
On your Android device: open the Play Store listing, tap Join under the testing section, then Install.
From a browser: open the Play Store testing page, sign in with the Google account on your phone, choose to become a tester, then install from the Play Store on your device.
Then open it and sign in with your approved email.
-
Can I use it without installing an app?
Yes. The Research Preview also runs on the web at demo.ph.app — sign in there with your approved email.
-
I installed it but it says 'Access pending.' What's wrong?
Installing the app and being approved are separate steps, and the preview is open only to approved Wehealth® Forum members and partners. If you see 'Access pending':
- Make sure you signed in with the exact email you were approved under — aliases and '+' addresses won't match.
- If you haven't requested access yet, request to join the Forum first.
- If you were approved and still can't get in, reach us through in-app Messages or at support@hub.inc.
-
Is this the same as the PHapp® in the App Store or Google Play?
No. The Research Preview is a separate, sandboxed app, kept completely apart from the live service — alerts reach only participating members and nothing here affects real residents. The PHapp® you'll find by searching the App Store or Google Play is the live product communities rely on today.
